Hi, I'm Ali, and I'd like to welcome you to my new blog, One Magic Penny. I'm having a pretty special year this year, on leave with my bonus baby. Meanwhile, we are experiencing a bit of a "cost of living crisis" (not our family per se, yet, but we will be when my maternity pay runs out!). This blog is about living well, living frugally, and enjoying the everyday magic. My goal is to post one post twice a week. One post will have a recipe. It'll be chill, cost effective, family friendly and vegetarian, because that's how we roll. The other post might be to do with gardening, opportunity shopping, crafts, or something else of that ilk. We'll see! What's with the name "One Magic Penny"? In the literal sense, it's about making pennies stretch further and about finding that spark of magic in everyday experiences. As an ex-pat American, pennies remind me pleasantly of my own childhood. And if you'll excuse the somewhat sappy reference...
